My mom has this and it is when something big takes place. Like a divorce or a death and your body just tenses up. However there is another one where if you feel unusual in a place your body doesn’t feel it should be there and it tenses up again. That’s all i really know about the subject. Hope it helps.
Panic Disorder is typically associated with Panic Attacks. Panic Attack symptoms fall directly in sync with those of a Heart Attack, making it very, very difficult to distinguish between the two. These attacks can be brought on for absolutely no apparent reason or they can be brought on by severe stress. If you are scared of other people it could be brought on by the STRESS of being around other people.
Exactly right – you can literally get physical symptoms when in crowds (rapid heartbeat, hives…). It can range from feeling like everyone thinks you’re “stupid” to this all out “panic” that you have to get out of there.
It’s an anxiety disorder. A left over from when we were cave men.
Fight flight response: that happens in the Amigdila (the center of you head) It comes from fear, and is related to agrophobia, and many other phobia’s.

There are several sorts of panic attacks…you get kind of freaked out about whatever bothers you…when I drive over tall bridges it’s like I freeze up and can’t quite breathe regular…weird and hard to explain, but I’m sure the experts will clue you in.

There are many different reasons for anxiety. Anxiety can lead to panic. Often symptoms of a panic attack are racing heart, dizziness, difficulty breathing, feelings of intense fear. Yes, some people have anxiety about being around people, the fear can be so intense that it brings on an attack.
There are medications and therapy for panic disorders. I would start by reading up about symptoms and recommendations. Then go see your doctor. He will like that you have taken the time to investigate your health problems.
panic disorder is generally caused in early adulthood, in college going period, and when girls get married. it is not a serious disease at all. behavior therapists can relieve one of the symptoms of panic disorders. people can lead normal life. the rea sons are some people genetically predisposed to it, stress, anxiety and some bio-social causes. though the symptoms look terrific there is nothing to worry about it. but treatment from a good psychiatrist trained in cognitive and behaviour modification techniques is a must. otherwise it will precipitate and cause several phobias.chest pain, breathing problems are some of the symptoms of it and they vary from one person to other.
I have panic disorder. It is an anxiety disorder and means that you have panic or anxiety attacks. Stress brings it on and different people get stress from different situations. When you have it even good stress can bring them on. The symptoms can differ but you basically freak out at certain times and begin to have shallow breaths, heart palpitations (feels like a butterfly in your chest), your body can go numb, you may feel like you are choking, etc. You feel like you are dying sometimes (which makes you panic more). What triggers panic attacks for me are situations beyond my control. I have ADD also so when I am running out of time on a huge project(happens often-lol) I get them, I have had them when I almost got in a wreck too. When my father died I had them in what would mostly be non-stressful situations. I had one in the supermarket & all of a sudden I felt like I had left my body and was looking down on it-everything got numb and I had to leave because I started to hyperventilate (another common symptom). They can be more serious too. I had a stressful semester in grad school last spring and my husband found me laying in the floor, hyperventilating, wheezing, and crying. I was walking to the window and suddenly had it and fell to the ground. Again I couldn’t feel my body. Nothing in particular had happened to cause it but it was an all around stressful time. If you are asking because you think you or someone you know has it-go to the doctor. I was on Paxil for a while for it and it helped some but it caused tremendous weight gain for me. I have heard that if you take Omega3 supplements (fish oil is best or flaxseed oil) that it will prevent the weight gain. Beta blockers are also prescribed and work best for me because you can take them only during the stressful situations. Actors/Actresses take them to calm their nerves before a big show; they just basically calm you down for a few hours. Hope I helped.

A panic disorder, or rather panic attacks are a mental state that triggers your natural fight or flight response when you get hurt or are in a bad situation.
Being scared or intimidated about being around other people is social anxiety.
As I mentioned above, the panic you get is the flight or fight. Your body triggers the hormones or endorphins that tell you to defend yourself or get the hell out of there. Most of this can be cured with anti-depressants and therapy.
If it is a friend or someone you care about, go to the local library and check out some books about the condition. They will be able to give the full accurate medical description, and ways to help or understand what that person is going through. They can be very scary.
Panic disorder is a chemical imbalance in your brain that causes your body to get into the “fight or flight” mode. You feel like you are having a heart attack cuz your heart rate increases, you have chest pains, you can’t breathe right and sometimes you pass out from it. You also get cold and clammy or break out into a sweat. I had this for years and took lots of meds for it until I found a doctor who helped me with deep breathing, meditation and other therapies. I can now get through an ocassional panic attack without thinking I am dying or making a useless trip in the back of an ambulance. There is help out there for this disorder….try them all and find the ones that work for you. There is light at the end of the tunnel…..good luck!!

A panic disorder is a psychosomatic disorder (because it involves your mind and your body). When a person with such a disorder is in a stressful condition, his/her body reacts to the problem often by shaking, sweating and/or hyperventilating. One cause of panic may be due to fear of being around other people, but there are other stressful events that can trigger a panic attack like being in a murder scene, taking a tough pop quiz, or realizing you’re wearing a bad outfit.

Panic disorder doesn’ happen in any specific place or reason. What it means is that all of a sudden you start to feel like you’re in a panic. It could happen anywhere. You could be sitting with your mom, and all of a sudden your heart starts racing, and you start to sweat and you feel like you’re scared or something. Real panic disorder happens in any place with any person, or no people at all.
Panic disorder is when you feel like you are in a room and the room is spinning round and round,your heart pumps so fast and you fell sweaty,you feel trapped and you can’t get out even though you are not trapped.You feel alone in the thought that you are the only person going through this but you are not alone and it won’t kill you.Even though it feels longer than it usually is.
There is panic disorder,anxiety disorder and agoraphobia and all three make you feel you don’t want to go out of your safe zone which is usually your own home.You don’t want to be around people so you start to avoid things like family gatherings,weddings,anything to do with going out of the house or around people.I like to stay up all night cuz that is my time,no one around to be scared of.It’s really hard on my family to watch and i feel guilt from it but it just makes me more anxious.But i’m still here and i’ve learned that with medication and my family support i will get over this .
I have had panic disorder for years. I have studied and read just about every theory on it and every treatment for it. At the moment, I am seeming to be doing better. Since so many have answered your question, I’ll just share some things I’ve learned:
1. I’ve come to believe that it’s possible panic disorder can be the result of another illness, or energy imbalance in your body. You could be allergic to something and that could be the cause. Check out the website http://www.naet.com. I’m doing NAET treatment for multiple allergies and we treated the emotion of “panic” and I’ve been doing better!
2. Paxil Sucks big time. Getting off it was Hell. Did that for 3 years and it probably caused some other health problems I’m experiencing.
3. If you have a phobia or specific fear try EFT. Go to http://www.emofree.com or try hypnosis. Because of my suffering with anxiety and panic attacks I’ve become a Certified Hypnotist. Questions, e-mail me.
4. Find a natural Doctor-one that does muscle response testing- and find out which vitamins and minderals your body is lacking. I feel better on high does of Magnesium.
5. I’m also doing a parasite cleansing because they too can cause a whole host of problems and energy imbalances.
6. If you want to understand the energy of your body better, I reccommend a book by Donna Eden called Energy Medicine.
7. And…aromatherapy. Lavender oil is great for panic. Young Living essential oils are the best. They have supplements that contain essential oils that you can injest.
8. If you have a health food store, I would look for a Bach’s Flower Essence called “Rescue Remedy.” Flower essences are great for emotional stuff. Just read their labels for the exact emotional issue you’re having.
9. prayer and reading scripture, especially the psalms are there for us in our times of suffering.
