Many people have jobs that are very stressful and leave them with a lot of work to do. Sometimes a person does not even have to have a lot of work to make them feel stressed out and feeling overwhelmed. It is not unusual for a person to have a panic disorder because of the work related issues that they are going through. People need to realize that there is help out there for them and that they do not have go through this ordeal alone.
Getting help to work out your career related stress is something that you need to do. You have to be able to work out your problems and get through the hard times. You have to think about what is going on around you. Are you worried about something that is going on at work? Are you worried that you have too much to do or is someone giving you a hard time? These are things that may start a panic disorder in many people and these problems have to be rectified in some way.

I have tried conventional “talk therapy” and from what I have heard and read.. seems that cognitive therapy works well for people like me who suffer from extreme anxiety and OCD. Anyone out there who knows about this type of therapy and if it works?
Thanks

My 15 year old daughter is having panic attacks which include feeling faint, becoming very hot, vision blurriness and fear. She recently was given glasses by our optometrist that are basically “placebos” because she didn’t need glasses but was convinced she did. I got some herbal supplements but I am afraid of the prescription medications for her. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to get a new job, but developed panic disorder a year and a half ago. I have been in the same job for three years. I am nervous about looking for a job knowing I have panic disorder. I am both nervous about telling prospective employers about it, and also having panic attacks on the job. Is there anything I can do to ease myself into looking for new work? Would it be seen as a bad thing to tell prospective employers? I am in cognitive therapy, and also under a psychiatrists care.

My psychologist wants to do it with me but I think it’s bull. I don’t want to do it.
She is still insisting we do it. I don’t take it seriously. I’m depressed but I don’t think that this is going to help. I don’t want to do it but the court has mandated that I get therapy.

I have been diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder and I also have Panic Attacks. I have been put on anti-depressents and go to the dr. regularly. I took a month off of work from both of my jobs. I have went back to the jobs this past Tuesday, and it is still VERY difficult to work and concentrate and even get out of bed.
Is this a valid reason to qualify for disability? If so, how?
