Question by Emily: How to treat anxiety attacks at night without medication?
For the past two weeks I’ve been having little panic attacks before I go to bed. I dont think I would really consider them panic/anxiety attacks. Its mostly me just freaking out over nothing and stressing out and not being able to fall asleep because of it. I think of mistakes I’ve made, the future including finishing high school, getting into a good college and being able to support a family. Im only 17, going to be starting my senior year and Im stressing out a lot. During the day Im completely fine, but once its time for bed, its really hard to sleep. I would enjoy some sleep. Can someone please give me some advice on how I can fall asleep without issues until I can see my doctor?

Question by AGuyFromCleveland: Is it possible to get over an anxiety disorder without medication?
I have had an anxiety disorder for many years, since my teens (I’m now in my 20s). I have gone to therapy and feel like I’m getting better but there are still days and moments when the anxiety comes back full force. Is it possible to ever get completely over an anxiety disorder, especially the social anxiety part, without using medication?

medication for anxiety and panic disorder?

i have suffered from panic disorder for about three years, and for the first month was on ativan 1mg. i haven’t taken anything since. i have got through it with no meds. but i have gotten to the point where i cant fight them anymore. they are really starting to control my life. my doc is wanting to put me on some medication. i have a very big phobia of pills and the way they make you feel. (a little ocd ) he has prescribed me xanax 1mg to take twice daily with vistaril 25mg as needed. i have not taken any yet. i am scared of the feeling it will give me. scared it will throw me into a attack, even though these are suppose to help attacks.

i guess what my question is…..are these meds going to make me feel funny or woozy.(which i hate feeling like) and if so, what would you recommend taking for anxiety and panic attacks.
