My boyfriend was diagnosed with panic disorder and anxiety attacks before he joined the Marine Corps. 6 years ago. He received meds but did not and does not take them. He spent 2 terms in Iraq and has been out of the service for 2 years. We’ve also been dating 2 years and he has had NO PROBLEMS and NO SIGNS OF ANXIETY since I’ve met him. He says his disorder has not been causing him any problems for a long time. When he got out of the Marines, he didn’t claim this as disability because he didn’t want it on his record. Now, since he’s been out, he’s been going to school for law enforcement. When they test him, what are his chances of passing? If they see his previous records, will this severly hinder his chances? Did he throw away 2 years and thousands of dollars with school??

Panic attacks are divided into three categories spontaneous panic attacks situational predisposed panic attacks and specific panic attacks. Click here to read more

Do you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks and are looking for a natural cure?

Click here now to see what worked for me >> Natural cure for panic attacks >>

To establish precedence allow me to say this: ‘We are all prone to panic attacks’. What singles you out is the intensity with which you experience your own panic attack as it mostly would vary from how I might experience mine. However way we might experience these attacks it does not become acute panic attacks until it radically alters the way we go about our day to day activities

Does the thought of having a panic attack ever cross your mind. If not you are one of the lucky people in the world. If you feel as if you are suffering from panic attacks read further to find out the signs and symptoms of panic attacks. Find out how to defeat them

Do you know how to stop a panic attack in its tracks? This article will help you build your very own ‘How to Stop a Panic Attack Plan’. Using this plan you will be able stop a panic attack in its tracks or at least minimize its severity. A must read for anyone that suffers from panic or anxiety disorder

Panic attacks occur when the anxiety levels soar beyond the tolerable limits resulting in pulsating heart beat nervousness dizziness lack of breath sweating etc. Medications can never be used to treat them as they just offer a temporary mild relief from the physical symptoms and do not treat the root cause. Further medications and drugs tend to be addictive and cause more anxiety than the panic attack itself

A panic attack is a sudden flow of overpowering and devastating anxiety and fear. When you are under an attack you fall short of breath and you experience heart palpitations. You may also feel dizziness and sickness to the stomach. Some who have panic attacks think that they are going to die or that they are going to be insane

Panic and anxiety can be crippling for those that suffer from these problems. Everywhere you go the threat of an unforeseen episode of panic and anxiety is looming over you. Let’s face it – this is no way to live. Fortunately there are panic attacks treatment options that can help you eliminate anxiety and panic from your life so that you can enjoy everything once again. Read on to learn more about how you can stop panic attacks in their tracks and even cure anxiety and panic for good

anxiety disorder symptom

Panic attacks are extremely frightening. Panic sufferers often believe they are having a heart attack and they dash to their physician or end up in an emergency room. Which is exactly what they should do. An accurate diagnosis is the first step in relieving panic attacks. A diagnosis is vital because panic attacks mimic a number of potentially serious medical conditions

Do you suffer from anxiety or panic attacks and are looking for a natural cure?

Click here now to see what worked for me >> Natural cure for panic attacks >>

The great debate is over should panic attack sufferers take medication or a natural cure for panic attacks. Here my reasons about why I personally believe that it is more effective to go with a natural holistic approach instead of taking medication for anxiety panic attack symptoms and the reasons why it is better for anxiety attack panic treatment

Your heart is racing your head is spinning it seems like your heart wants to jump out of your body and you have no control of it. You place your sweating hand on your chest almost hoping to calm it down by your touch………not today as the beats get faster & faster. What is going on you wonder is it a panic attack

Panic attacks are never pleasant and the first one is enough to make everyone wish they never have another for as long as they live. However there is a problem when you try to stop panic attacks through mere thought because that is impossible. People dwell so much on them that they might as well be worrying themselves into another attack. In fact too much thinking about panic attacks can establish a permanent trigger that will set an attack off just by concentrating too much on the fear of having it. People often tend to get needlessly worked up and heighten their anxiety by worrying about how to stop panic attacks. All this makes it only makes it worse because after the first people are laying the foundation of what they think will stop panic attacks instead of encouraging that bad experience

If you or someone you care about has suffered panic attack symptoms and panic disorder cycle then you know how very frightening this can be. You could be just going about your everyday life events when suddenly you begin to feel the symptoms of a panic attack

Fears anxieties and emotions all originate from our subconscious that is why hypnosis can help victims alleviate panic attacks and its symptoms. A lot of ways has been tried in treating panic attacks and hypnosis is one of the most effective ones because hypnosis is about tapping the subconscious mind to do positive things

I have a lot of troubles breathing. I’ve had panic disorder for about a year. I’ve been checked out for other issues, it seems to be just panic disorder. Does anyone else with panic disorder have troubles breathing more than once and awhile? I have also developed OCD now, I always check my pulse…like always. My friends always notice me doing it. They always just wonder why i’m doing it, and tell me i’m fine. I honeslty can’t stop doing it, not matter how hard I try. I also notice it my panic attacks get worse when I’m around smoke, or if I even have a drink or 2. I don’t drink on a regular basis. Hardly ever. I ate chocolate today and I’ve been having worse panic attacks. Also caffine I know is another one that triggers panic attacks. I don’t drink coffee, but I had an ice cap the other day and it was bad after…I had panic attacks like the rest of the day till I went to sleep. Tonight I broke down. I hate medication I don’t take it anymore. I don’t have much control over this. help
I don’t know how to deal with this. I’ve been to so many doctors. They all tell me i’m healthy. I always think i’m not. It ffeels helpless. I know a lot off people deal with this problems. Anyone I talk to that does I feel for them, because I know exactly how they feel. It’s horrible. I just like being reasured about this issue. It’s so hard not thinking it’s something else. I always get very moody too, while i’m having an attack. I feel bad cause I treat my boyfriend like crap, when he’s only trying to help. I don’t know how to control myself. It’s very frustrating.
One more thing. Does anyone with this problem have breathing problems when walking up stairs, or going for walks. Usually during a panic attack. Sometimes I do. Other time running around and being active helps..other time it just seems to irrate my breathing more. Does this sound farmilar to anyone?

She went to the Doctor and he perscribed anti-depressants for her and told her she had a chemical inbalance. The Doctor didn’t test her or anything he just asked her question for about ten minutes then perscribed anti-depressants. He later then got his license to practice medicine taken away. Her panic attacks went away but eventually she will have to go off the medication. I have been reading about panic attacks and I am psych major so I understand a little bit about the brain and disorders can anyone help shed more light on the subject of panic attacks and black outs?

I wrote this in another forum and one person suggested I ask here also. I am 33, married for 10 years- very happily. Both of us have good jobs.
I asked what is the determining factor in deciding to have a baby. I have OCD and Panic Disorder. I am currently on 150 zoloft and 20mg valium. I’m wondering if anyone has had these disorders and had children. If yes, did you have to stop the medication while pregnant? What effects did you have while pregnant? Did you breast feed? Could you take meds while breast feeding? Can/could you handle the stress of a newborn or was it overwhelming?
Any info would be soooo helpful. Please…

I know someone who has been having panic attacks for 2 weeks now! They have already been to the doctor and diagnosed now I guess it’s just a waiting game for the meds to kick in. Anyway since they have been having them she doesn’t want to be alone. If she is for the smallest amount of time then she freaks out. Should someone always be there with her or should she be better off getting over it herself? She feels as though she CONSTANTLY needs someone there during the day! Is this even normal for a panic attack?

Panic attack can be an extremely frightening experience. Suddenly, your hit by a barrage of symptoms, you may feel like having a heart attack, suffocating, or losing control. This experience can be so traumatizing and real that you will feel like dieing right at that moment.

Panic attack can strike anytime, anywhere and to anyone. It don’t even need a reason to hit you. Although excessive stress can trigger a panic attack, it is completely random for most of the time.

However, once you experienced the first panic attack, the body will be put on “alert” status and the chances of having another attack is increased. This becomes a problem if panic attack occur again and again.

An important contributor to the occurrence of further panic attacks is related to where the first one occurred. For most, it happens in a place where they cannot escape easily: for example, in a train, bus, taxi, elevator, building. For example, if the panic attack occurred during a bus ride, chance are, you would be quite nervous during your next bus ride as you think panic attack might hit you again. The more nervous you are, the more likely another panic attack will happen.

With your initial experience with panic attack, you will most probably try to escape before you feel the attack coming on. Once out of the bus, the panic feeling subside and your worst fear is confirmed. You associate bus ride to your panic attack. A few more experiences confirms this and you avoid taking a bus altogether.

What I have just explained is a typical example of the development of panic attack and it can be applied to any situation. You have a panic attack at a particular place or situation. You link it to that place or situation and avoid it.

The main culprit here is fear. The fear and anxiety of having a panic attack causes it to happen. Panic attack feeds on fear and anxiety. The more your fearful of it happening, the harder and faster it will hit you. In order to control a panic attack and stop it forever, you need to attack its roots – fear.

The most effective way to stop panic attack forever is to KNOW that you will not be harmed. A large part of the fear comes from the fact that the sufferer thinks he is about to die, which is totally untrue!

Here’s a few FACTS about panic attack:

-Panic attack CANNOT cause heart attack

-Panic attack CANNOT cause suffocation

-Panic attack CANNOT make you faint

-Panic attack CANNOT cause you to go mad/crazy

Doesn’t feel like it? But its true! There more than enough medical evidence to prove all these. The symptoms feel unnatural because its a panic response from the body, your not suppose to feel it unless your in danger – which your not! Panic attack is the result of this “panic alarm” going off for the wrong reason. Use this knowledge to your advantage, KNOW that you are safe and panic attack cannot harm you. Don’t fear panic attack…and certainly don’t fear having one!

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and if I get a bad one, I notice at the ER that my blood pressure shoots through the roof. Nothing TOO high but it can go 130/140s and very close to 150s, and the lower number can go into the 100-110 range.

Is this something I should be highly concerned with?

It normally drops to like 100 over 60 afterwards when I’m sedated, and it never stays at that level, but it can shoot up there in a matter of MINUTES!

Should I be concerned, becuase none of my doctors seem to be at all, whatsoever,

but people on this message board go crazy if you mention anything over 120/80.

I n eed some true advice.

I just saw a cardiologist today and he didn’t seem the slightest bit concerned.

He didn’t do any extensive tests on me since I Had heart palpitations frequently, but im also sick, so maybe during illness its more normal?

He said the palps and the anxiety/panic high bp are nothing to worry about.

Is this true?
I also notice that SOME times my LOWER number seems to be the most dramatically increased, and other times its the HIGHER number.

What could cause the lower one to increase, and what would cause the higher?
