Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder most commonly characterized by a subject’s obsessive, distressing, intrusive thoughts and related compulsions which attempt to neutralize the obsessions. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), usually begins in adolescence or young adulthood and is seen in as many as 1 in 200 children and adolescents. OCD is a type of anxiety that happens when there is a problem with the way the brain deals with normal worrying and doubts. Feeling driven to perform such rituals over and over may indicate that you have obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). If you have obsessive-compulsive disorder, ritualistic behaviors may literally take over your life. Obsessions are recurrent and persistent thoughts, impulses, or images that are unwanted and cause marked anxiety or distress. Frequently, they are unrealistic or irrational. They are not simply excessive worries about real-life problems or preoccupations. Compulsions are repetitive behaviors or rituals or mental acts. OCD affects people of all ages. It often begins during childhood. OCD is a result of changes in your body’s own natural chemistry.

I have obsessive compulsive disorder, and often get fired. My symptoms is that I keep on checking things over and over again. For example, I keep on checking the door lock and light switch over and over again to see if it locked properly, so that I get a right feeling that it closed properly.
If you have obsessive compulsive disorder what kind of job you have?
There is many more different kinds of checking rituals that I do which I am too ashamed to say.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a type of anxiety disorder. The repetitive, distressing thoughts or images that become the obsessions for sufferers cause a tremendous amount of anxiety that can only be placated by the ritualistic compulsions that temporarily work to soothe the anxious mind and stop the obsessive thoughts.
However, the compulsions are only a temporary fix and need to be repeated every time the thoughts crop up. Moreover, some people become so obsessive about stopping or preventing the obsessive thoughts and images that they perform their rituals almost constantly to prevent the occurrence of the unwanted thoughts.

I thought I had obsessive compulsive disorder but it turns out to be OCPD. I expect to much from my girlfriend friends and family and I want it to stop especially for my girlfriend. I know Im putting a lot of stress on her and pushing her away and I want to stop. She has put up with it for 5 months now and I know she loves me for dealing with me. Its going to be hard for me to stop because she doesnt make it easy with some of the things she does but I need to get my problem out of the way so I can rationally deal with our problems. Thank You.
