We can’t tell you if you will be discharged, but if you do, it won’t be other than honorable.
yes they can kick you out. they can’t have you panicking in the middle of a battle and getting your comrades killed.
If you cannot keep your head in a relatively low key environment you are no good to the military where you could be put into high pressure situations.
and yes you could get a general discharge.
If it doesn’t say that in your contract, I believe they can’t.
If it is a medical discharge it will be an honorable discharge…don’t worry so much.
If your panic attacks are serious enough to the fact that you can’t do your job, or that you are putting fellow Soldiers in danger, then you might get sent home. They will try different medications for it, and if they work you might get reclassed into a different MOS. Being 11 series, I know that its like a slap in the face to hear that you can’t do your job anymore. But if you want to continue in the Army, that is something that you are going to have to deal with. It is a medical discharge that you would get, and that is pretty much Honorable. General, OTH, and Dishonorable are only if you get into trouble. With the medical discharge, you still get your benefits. With General, some are taken away. With OTH, you are able to see the VA at a lower priority status. With Dishonorable, you get absolutely nothing. Talk with your doctor and chain of command and ask them questions. Someone there can give you the straightforward answer that you need and deserve. Good luck with your panic attacks, and with your endeavors in the Army.
Yes, you can be discharged. Panic disorder is a medical condition. You would not get a dishonorable discharge. You would be Honorable discharged and perhaps even with some medical disability benefits.
My father got Scarlet Fever in WWII and was in Army hospital for 2 months then returned to service only to developed complications. He got an honorable discharge and a 10% disability check for the rest of his life (52 yrs). It was small but helped.
He wanted to stay in also. There is no shame in having a medical condition. You served and wanted to serve. I thank you for your service and wish you the best.
dude, I use to have anxiety attacks when I had flashbacks to my sexual abuse after meeting my husband, differance is, when I had them no one knew that I was having them. I kept the heavy breathing to myself while on duty hours and did not freak out and i remained as calm as I possibly could without letting anyone know I was having one, thats the differance between you and me, I could have one and no one knew, and you have one and probably had the heavy breathign and looked like you wher ehavign an asmthma attack, and felt liek you where havign a heart attack and drew attention to yourself and now you are gettign out, well I stayed in and remained as calm as I could until the attack left.
You will be given a General Discharge under Honorable Conditions under the provisions of Chapter Five of Army Regulation 635-200 for having a disqualifying medical condition which existed prior to service.
There are 2 programs out there that are famous for treating Panic Attacks and Anxiety successfully.
They are: Panic Away and The Linden Method.
You may wonder, “Which one is better?” Don’t worry, you’re not the only one with that question.
The Panic Away program is more appropriate for people who can cope with their Panic Attacks or Anxiety well.
Linden Method is more for those who aren’t really good in coping their Panic Attacks or Anxiety well.

ok girl with panic attacks first off there are diffrent levels of panics attacks u stupid boot. ok, im not in the army im in the marines infantry and you can get discharged but first. there gonna give you valuum and see how it goes. if that doesnt work u will be discharged. if you do get discharged you may or maynot get your gi bill. it depends on the medical discharge that you get. you could get disability. depending on servity. i get 3-5 of them aday and ther descently mild. but you can learn to control it.
