Has anyone had any real remedy for panic disorder? Pharma or Natural remedies?

I had panic attacks for years. The best natural cures are cognitive behavioral therapy and excercise. Biofeedback can be helpful too.
Try reading the book “The Feeling Good Handbook.” The title is cheesy but it really helps.
I just take big deep breaths. It gets oxygen back to your heart and stops the palpitations
It’s really a case by case basis for what works. Some people can learn to overcome the symptoms with psychological tricks, others with medications. Most people do a combination. I used paxil for 5 years, lexapro for one, and then decided on my own to try and go on my own without meds after spending those years researching tips and techniques. Now whenever I feel a panic attack comming on, I start distracting myself. Like by counting things, like dots on the ceiling, lines on a piece of paper, anything random that is in sight. It’s all about tricking the mind that there’s nothing to be afraid of. Distraction cuts it off fast. Then do deep breaths to calm the shakes and heartbeat. The trick is to start these techniques at the very first sign of panic. If you wait too long, it’s much more difficult. There are a lot of great books out there to help. Try the Anxiety and Phobia Workbook by Bourne. It came highly recommended by a doc I had many years ago.

The drug companies would like you to think so, but the proof is coming out more and more everyday there is no valid and reliable scientific evidence to use drugs and they just cause bigger problems. There are things you can do like learn breathing techniques and visualization and it can help some.
