My counselor diagnosed me with Panic Disorder. What is the difference in it and Generalized Anxiety Disorder? It’s no big deal, I was just curious.

According to DSM criteria, in order to have Panic Disorder, you must have had at least one unexpected (so not brought on by any specific event, person, object, etc.) panic attack, followed by anxiety about that and future panic attacks.
For Generalized Anxiety Disorder, a person needs extreme anxiety that is difficult to control, and that is related to numerous events, activities, etc. The anxiety cannot be only about having a panic attack.
