Can someone describe a panic attack and/or general anxiety disorder?
If I get very stressed out, which is fairly often, I have trouble taking full breaths. Unfortunately, I’m stressed out the most when doing something I’m not doing, like running, and I just joined the cross-country team…
I’m planning on doing some research on anxiety disorders before I talk to my doctor and anything you can tell me would be great.

Probably stress related but not a classic panic or anxiety attack, unless you also had the overwelming feeling or eithr immobility or on the other extreme that you must run away. A panic attack is in essence a psychosomatic flight or fight response to a perceived threat either real or imaginary. The shortness of breath could be allergy, bronchitus or asthma related all of which can be triggered or aggravated by stress. You are on the right road by researching your issue.
Here is some thorough information on Panic and Anxiety attacks:
I use to have a lot of panic attacks when I used to live with my ex.
It usually happens when my emotions gets picked at so much along with a mix of intense arguments that gets nowhere and repeats over and over, and the other person doesn’t want hear the different sides of the situation and disagreements and misunderstandings are just off the charts.
Physically what happens is my breathing speeds up like I’ve run forever, my heart beats and pounds so loud and hard it’s difficult to hear, I start shaking like I’ve just come out of the water and into the snow. Then after the shaking has gone away, it gets extremely cold.
Panic attacks is different from an general anxiety disorder.
anxiety attacks are scary. learning to relax helps control them.
I have a website called anxietycompass.com that should answer a lot of questions for you. Good luck.
A Panic attack feels like someone has come up behind you and scared the you-know-what out of you. They come out of no where and for no reason.
Anxiety feels the same way as when you were a child and you knew you were in trouble and the feeling you had waiting to see what your punishment would be. Or waiting while they handed out the report cards.
Anxiety Disorder
Anxiety Disorder is a very hard thing for anyone to deal with. The key to beating it is to understand it. This disorder causes someone to have a very high amount of anxiety, so much that even the little things can be enough to make it build up higher and higher, when the anxiety gets to high the persons Fight or Flight part of their brain goes in to over drive and their body doesn’t know how to react, this often leads to a temporary feeling of great pain or discomfort known as a panic attack.
* Anxiety Disorder Symptoms

A person dealing with this disorder may not feel every symptom listed, when I was suffering from the disorder I only felt 3, but every symptom has been reported in other people.
Panic Attacks
Panic attacks can be a very painful humiliating experience to anyone that has one, often times in public places it can cause a scene and have loved one worried over you. This causes many of the people that have attacks to become very unsocial. When I had frequent panic attacks I would look for any excuse I could to stay at home all the time. In the end that began to put a strain on my relationship with my wife.
* Panic Attack Symptoms
* Dizzy spells leading to panic
* Racing heart and tingling sensations
* An overwhelming fear that the anxiety is going to push you over the edge
* Constant chest tightness from anxiety
* Hot flashes followed up with waves of anxiety
* Tightness in chest and throat as well as shortness of breath

* Obsessive worries and unwanted thoughts
I am, however, glad that my anxiety attack days are over. I tried every methods possible and nothing worked. Then my friend referred me to this product, Anxiety Lie. I bought it and listened to what the author had to say. I followed the methods suggested in the product and within 2 months, my anxiety problems just disappeared. Maybe anyone suffering from anxiety attacks can try this product and see the difference for themselves. Here is the link…
Stress is the chief cause of most anxiety, panic and social phobias. But stress is not just about feeling tense and wired. It’s about the triggering of our hard-wired “Fight or Flight Response.” And it’s about the release of toxic hormones — drip, drip drip — into our system. These hormones seep into our blood and tissues where, over time, they set up conditions for “attacks” of fear, anxiety and panic.
I can sympathize with people’s misery from this disorder as I myself was a victim of it for a long time. But, thankfully, people have come up with new methods to deal with this problem, and in the process, relieving many people of their agony.
When panic attacks contract the better of you, nearly everyone would like immediate relief and from then, usually resort to drugs. However, as you keep taking these drugs, you will realize that apart from your condition worsening, there will come a point whereby you simply cannot stop this drug abuse. Ultimately, you will ruin your mental and physical health. Drugs will only give you temporary symptomatic relief whilst you are tremendously tense, but you maintain a racing pulse or sweat profusely, whilst you feel like someone is strangling you to death.
When a position is perceived as a small trigger, nearly everyone react by feeling a little tense, start sweating and experience slight shudder. But, in people’s misery from panic attacks, these little triggers are perceived as a colossal menace and people react as they would do with symptoms with that of other serious health problems.
A panic attack is very treatable. What you need to convince yourself that the attack is a small problem which you can overcome by calming down. Instead of worrying, try to focus on re-thinking and re-living with the aim of controlling the situations which trigger the attack in the first place.
Every another circumstance ought to be taken as a challenge, compared to you trying to solve a complex mathematical or science equation. Once you discover how to resolve this, you will find out with the aim of your mental and material physical condition improves immensely, which will develop your overall quality of life.
Do you want your anxiety attack problems to disappear forever? Do you want a one time, permanent solution to all your panic attack worries?
Well, there is a cure and you can stop your panic attacks now!

Stress can cause anxiety. It generally isn’t a panic attack or anxiety disorder unless it is overwhelming fear that is causing your breathing to change. But, higher levels of anxiety can cause changes in breathing. It is a symptom of panic attacks. Unless you are becoming very fearful it’s probably not a panic attack or anxiety disorder. Try not to worry too much about it and it may disappear. Worrying about it can trigger the breathing symptom.
