Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows if there’s any over the counter supplements that can be used to treat panic attacks and/or depression? I would love to discover some sort of supplements or medicine that would help prevent social anxieties specifically. Maybe I should find some sort of breathing exercises to help keep my heart rate down.

I’m writing a brief paper about panic disorder and just wanted to clarify something.
Are the recurring panic attacks caused by the same situation each time? Or do the panic attacks happen randomly?

Panic attacks run in our family. Luckily I escaped it. My cousin, who is a cop, thought he did to. Three years into working for the Raleigh, Nc police, he has developed regular panic attacks. Is this common place for cops? They have reffered him to therapy, but said if he is unable to overcome the disorder in 90-180 days, he should consider resigning, or may be asked to leave. Panic attacks and anxiety disorder are the most common mental disorders known to man. In fact about 1 in 9 of us suffer some form of it. So what should he do?

For the past year, i have had panic/anxiety disorder and sometimes get extremely anxious and need to leave rooms and catch my breath for a while.
Should i get my mum to call up a teacher and tell them just in case something happens?
If so, what should she say to them?

I was in therapy last year for 6 months for panic disorder and emetophobia (fear of vomiting). I had to quit due to losing my insurance. Now I am having the same anxious feelings again, sweating, upset stomach, hot flashes, body aches, etc. I can’t stand to go thru it again and don’t know what to do. I have been doing my breathing but it still keeps coming. We are in a really stressful time right now and I think it might be due to that. Anyone with any advice I would really appreciate.

One time, my mum and I went to a local grocery store, to make long story short, she thought she lost her pouch inside the grocery (I was holding it)… She was suddenly like, “where’s my pouuuch???? where’s my pouch!!!,” she panicked! What the! Her face looked really weird and worried! I told her I have it.. Whoah…
It happens most of the time.
Now my question is, if that happens, does that trigger her blood to rise up again? (high blood pressure?)
Could it be a panic disorder or just from her high blood pressure?
It is summer right now in ur place, temperature is always around 32ºC – 38ºC. It also contributes in having high blood pressure, right?
What’s the best thing to do then?

I have been diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder and I also have Panic Attacks. I have been put on anti-depressents and go to the dr. regularly. I took a month off of work from both of my jobs. I have went back to the jobs this past Tuesday, and it is still VERY difficult to work and concentrate and even get out of bed.
Is this a valid reason to qualify for disability? If so, how?
